Announcement – Exciting Changes at Technology Coach!

Have you ever heard of “tl;dr”? It stands for “too long, didn’t read” and is often used as a way to summarise long messages so that readers can quickly get to the point without reading the whole message. The whole message will follow, of course, if you’d like to read the details.

  • Technology Coach has updated our hours. Our new hours are 10am-5pm Monday-Friday by appointment only. This change gives you more time to meet with us. It also makes the time we spend together more valuable by giving us all time to prepare for the discussion.
  • Up to now, the focus has been on “Ikora” as the Technology Coach. We’re expanding our availability by using the Technology Coach Facebook Page instead of Ikora’s personal page. This now allows you to get in touch with the whole team.

A Message from Ikora, our Managing Director

It has been a big year for Technology Coach on Kangaroo Island! We moved here around this time last year, just before the bushfires and then COVID-19. As a business, a family and a community, we’ve experienced many changes, so we want to update you about how those changes may impact you, the TC client.

We bought our house/office in Kingscote in November 2019, and moved in 5 months later! As a result, our TC business was a bit hard to reach. We remodelled our home/office between February and August (and to be honest, we’re still working on it). You may have seen our Director of Operations, Danielle working at Amanda’s Take Away earlier this year, and in August, she joined the Technology Coach team. With Danielle on the team, we opened our home office to the community on Kangaroo Island with the intention of helping locals harness the power of technology and the internet. We did a ‘soft launch’ where we didn’t advertise or tell anyone we were opening and set our business hours to 10am-2pm M-F with appointments available. We had no idea what to expect, but thought it might take a little bit of time to make Technology Coach a household name on KI.

To our surprise, the support from the community has been totally overwhelming. What a space to be in!

The community knows me, Ikora, as a technologist, graphic designer, and business consultant, so people frequently reach out to me personally to get help. That’s great! I love to hear from people. We now have a whole team ready to engage with you and hear your feedback, requests, comments, and support you with your technology needs. To work in line with our mission to support the skilled community of KI, we are making some small adjustments to communications to ensure we continue to deliver the great service you’ve come to expect from Technology Coach.
